Journeyman Plumber
As a Journeyman Plumber at Mechanical & Plumbing Systems, LLC, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will work under the guidance of a Master Plumber and may be required to lead apprentices or assist in complex projects. Your role demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring high-quality and code-compliant plumbing work.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Repair: oInstall, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions. oPerform routine maintenance and emergency repairs as needed. Project Execution: oRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine plumbing requirements. oMeasure, cut, and assemble pipes and fittings with precision. oEnsure all installations and repairs are completed in compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes. Team Collaboration: oWork closely with Master Plumbers, apprentices, and other team members to complete projects efficiently. oProvide training and mentorship to apprentices or junior plumbers as needed. oCommunicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met. Customer Service: oInteract professionally with clients to address their plumbing needs and provide clear explanations of work performed. oResolve customer concerns and maintain a positive relationship with clients. oEnsure client satisfaction through quality workmanship and effective communication. •Safety and Compliance: oFollow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. oObtain necessary permits and schedule inspections as required. oStay informed about changes in plumbing codes and regulations. •Documentation: oKeep accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any changes to original plans. oComplete work orders and reports in a timely and detailed manner. Qualifications: Education: oHigh school diploma or equivalent. oCompletion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program or equivalent training. Licensing: oValid Journeyman Plumber license (specific to the state or region of employment). Experience: oMinimum of 5 years of experience as a plumber, with hands-on experience in both residential and commercial plumbing. oExperience in working under the supervision of a Master Plumber or in a similar role. Skills: oProficient in plumbing systems, tools, and techniques. oAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. oStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. oGood communication and customer service skills. oAbility to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements: oAbility to lift heavy materials and tools. oCapability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights. oManual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination. Apprentice Plumber
As a Plumber's Apprentice at Mechanical & Plumbing Systems, LLC, you will assist experienced plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience in the plumbing trade, with opportunities for career advancement as you gain skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistance and Support: o Assist journeyman and master plumbers with various plumbing tasks, including installation, repair, and maintenance. oPrepare and organize tools, materials, and equipment needed for plumbing tasks. oCarry out basic plumbing tasks under supervision, such as cutting and assembling pipes, and fitting fixtures. Training and Development: oParticipate in on-the-job training and educational opportunities to learn plumbing techniques and best practices. oStudy plumbing codes and regulations as part of your training program. oSeek feedback and guidance from experienced plumbers to improve your skills. Site Preparation and Cleanup: oHelp with the setup and breakdown of job sites, including ensuring all tools and materials are organized and accounted for. oClean and maintain job sites to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. oRemove debris and dispose of waste materials properly. Customer Interaction: oMaintain professionalism and courtesy when interacting with clients and customers. oAssist in explaining work processes and addressing basic client inquiries under the guidance of senior plumbers. Safety and Compliance: oAdhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. oFollow instructions carefully to ensure that all work complies with plumbing codes and safety regulations. Documentation and Reporting: oKeep accurate records of work performed and report any issues or progress to your supervising plumber. oDocument and report any changes or unexpected findings to ensure proper handling. Qualifications: Education: oHigh school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program or coursework in plumbing is a plus. Experience: oPrevious experience in a related field or a basic understanding of plumbing systems is advantageous but not required. Skills: oBasic understanding of plumbing tools, materials, and techniques. oWillingness to learn and follow instructions carefully. oGood problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. oStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
